Substitute Para Educators

Must be at least 18 years of age

Education/Experience:
Any combination equivalent to:  graduation from high school and some experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities in a classroom environment is preferred.

Job Description:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist staff in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

Types of Classes:
Autism, Community School, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Emotionally Disturbed, Independent Study, Juvenile Hall, Learning Handicapped, Life Skills, Multi Handicapped Physically Handicapped, Resources, Severe Disorders of Language, Severely Handicapped, Special Day Class, Transitions, Visually Handicapped, 1:1 Assignment (Working with a specific student) and Classroom Assistant (Assisting teacher in the classroom).
