13th Annual PHAST (Protecting Health and Slamming Tobacco) Youth Coalition: Tobacco Slam Training

 The Stanislaus County Office of Education Prevention Programs, in partnership with the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency, Memorial Medical Center, Leading to Change, and Youth Decoy Program, will host the 13th Annual PHAST Tobacco Slam Training on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Petersen Event Center (720 12th Street, Modesto). 

Tom Changnon Retires After 12 Years at SCOE and 43 Years in Education

After 43 years in education and 12 remarkable years as Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools, Tom Changnon will retire effective January 4, 2019.

It was January of 2007 when Tom Changnon took his place at the helm of the Stanislaus County Office of Education. After being sworn into office at the County Board of Supervisors meeting, he walked through the front doors of SCOE’s main downtown Modesto office and employees greeted him with a round of applause. Today, those same employees would give him a standing ovation.

Foothill Horizons Outdoor School will host an Open House this Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at their Sonora site(21925 Lyons Bald Mountain Road, Sonora)This free event will include activities for the kids, snacks, as well as tours of the site.

SCOE to Rename Stanislaus County Institute of Learning in Ceres to John B. Allard School

Allard School. SCOE recently sold the Allard school site in Turlock to the Turlock Unified School District and relocated the Stanislaus Military Academy, which was located there, to the Teel School site in Empire.
